Objectives

Parents and Carers

To provide parents and carers with free advice and support, regardless of their financial circumstances.

To communicate with the NHS on behalf of the family when things go wrong.

To educate parents and carers about how the NHS limb deficiency service works.

To empower users of the service through nationally agreed standards and audits.

National Health Service

To inform the NHS of the needs of limb deficient children, young people and their families.

To introduce new nationally agreed standards of care for children, young people and their families in every limb deficiency centre.

To introduce new nationally agreed auditing procedures to ensure that the new standards are being met by all limb deficiency centres.

To make available specialist facilities for children, young people and their families.

Prosthetic Contractors

To introduce new nationally agreed prosthetic hardware and service contracts.

To introduce new nationally agreed auditing procedures to ensure that the new contracts are being met by all contractors.
