- Due to The Great Britain squads meteoric rise in the world rankings and now among the favourite contenders to bring home the world championship cup from Argentina in October we are at the mercy of fund raising to ensure our country is represented in this prestigous tournament.
We urgently request that you can post our appeal with your relevant press departments including tabloid, broadcasting and electronic at your earliest convenience to aid our appeal. The Great Britain Amputee football squad are a group of the UK’s most talented footballers who have suffered amputation protecting us in the war on terror, from cancer or caused by accidents through the negligence of others, there are now fast approaching over 100 participants in the sport in the UK and we are looking forward to welcoming new regional squads across the uk in the near future, not only raising the profile of our sport but of insirational athletes in our regions who can go on to help others achieve the dreams that many more people than you realise can.
We need to raise £20,000 to fly the Flag and the Squad to Argentina and accomodate them and the medical and coaching staff with our equipment in October. Please post the following links to your site to support our appeal and if where possible even a £1 donation will take us closer with every step. http://www.theeafa.co.uk http://www.everyclick.com/amputeefootball
- From July 1st 2010 we have an exciting change to Team Anglia GB, due to other football projects affecting the East Anglian Community as a whole we will be known as Team Anglia GB Community Football. Look out for future press releases as we seek a patron of the region to figurehead our project.
- From mid July 2010 we are pleased to announce we will be holding the first pre season trials and training for the following football project. Elite Under 16′s, Under 18′s & Under 21′s. If you have been an academy player or trialist and have been released for whatever reason Team Anglia GB now offers the Route Back Academy Football Project. Players will play against 10 elite academy clubs next season from the premier league and the championship and at least 6 matches against league 1,2 & conference clubs. They will benefit from 3 hours coaching per week in state of the art facilities and have their own profile page in the Team Anglia GB portfolio which will be presented to Academy Managers and Club Scouts at match venues and upon request.
- Due to the launch of the new elite squads a number of vacancies for talented and aspiring coaches in the region has arisen and more details can be found at http://www.teamanglia.ukcentre.com
- Finally, we are pleased to announce we have a 3G pitch kindly donated to us for the day by Optua Liesure, who on the 24th July 2010 at the Northgate Sports Centre in Ipswich are hosts to a Pan Disability Multi Sports extraveganza with their Showcase day. We are delighted to invite our London and Manchester allies & counterparts to compete on the day and talk to newly interested people in the sport and help and inspire other athletes on the day. Among our guests will be Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and we are hoping potentially 2 new GB Regional squads!. With our National Manager David Tweed attending as our guest of honour and many of the Great Britain Squad including all Team Anglia GB stars it promises to be a high profile day and a cup tournament as part of our showcase will cement East Anglia’s commitment to our fallen soldiers, Cancer Victims, and other talented stars who lose limbs to injury or accident.
Therefore, I request, could anyone help us create history on july 24th 2010 by sponsoring a trophy and medals so that we can create an Annual East Anglian Invitation Cup so that our huge Suffolk fan base and our collegues can be involved with the great clubs that have joined together in this project. Making it more accessable to other people who have suffered limb loss of any origin including birth.
I appreciate your indulgence to read our news letter and appeal to you please to push the England Amputee Football Association and its causes.
Kindest Regards
Simon Johnston
