New Employment Discrimination Team for Leigh Day & Co.

by wendy

Press Release

Leigh Day & Co is delighted to announce that Camilla Palmer, Joanna Wade and Melanie Thomas have joined the firm on 1 April 2009 to create a specialist Employment Discrimination Team in the Human Rights Department.

The lawyers joined Leigh Day Partner Chris Benson, to provide a specialist employment discrimination practice: including race, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation and religion & belief. The team also specialises in Maternity Rights and Equal pay discrimination. Both Camilla and Joanna are part-time employment judges and Joanna has a growing mediation practice. They have many years experience in the field of employment discrimination and are highly-rated by the leading legal directories.

Leigh Day & Co has a highly-rated human rights department whose case load includes many high-profile cases. In January they succeeded in a House of Lords appeal relating to the Government’s Protection of Vulnerable Adults Scheme that was ruled as being unlawful. The existing equal pay team led by Chris Benson is acting on behalf of hundreds of women throughout the UK who have been unfairly paid in the past.
